Kevin: I got your name by hunting on the service for anyone who has used the CDK and could give me some feedback on it. I am looking into purchasing it within the next couple of weeks and would like to know who's using it, on what projects, what kind of apps, etc. I would appreciate your feedback. Thanks DJF

<< I am looking into purchasing it within the next couple of weeks and would like to know who's using it, on what projects, what kind of apps, etc. I would appreciate your feedback.>> Currently, there are both application developers and title developers that are using the CDK. R2 for Windows has been on the market just over a month now and it has attracted a lot of interest. Aspect of the product such as; integration of the 3D Studio animation system, support for multiple rendering solutions, and an object oriented, C++ architecture for simulation are unique to the CDK. If you want to get a quick look at a CDK app, you might want to download the NavFlyer from the SW Dev. Kit Library section. Also, Angela Pate of MicronGreen (NavFlyer Developer) can be reached here on CIS! -Kevin

Kevin: Thank you for your response. I will look into your suggestions. I will most likely be contacting a local Autodesk rep for the Southern California area very soon to purchase this software. Thanks again. DJF

Dan, Check with Adesk but you usually need to get it from a specially licensed dealer. The dealer needs to have a programmer on staff/contract to support CDK users and have met some other special requirements. I recall there is an excellent one down in the Newport Beach area. I had their card around here a couple daze ago. Ahh, here we go, drop an email to Greg Pyros 73027,3632. He's the prez of the company (name eludes me). He was real helpful when I wrote my review of CDK v1 a couple years ago. As a fellow SoCal resident, I'll be interested to hear/see what you do with the product! Jerry

Hi Dan, Welcome to Asoft. Yes I am a CDK developer/dealer and would be happy to answer any questions I can. And I am VERY please to note that our stuff has been moved to the NEW library section for CDK applications (Yeah, raw, sis-boom-bah!) It is no longer in the Software Development Kit section. THANK YOU SYSOPs and anyone else concerned! You have made my weekend! Angela Pate

Angela: Thanks for your response. I most likely will be joining the fold of newcomers to CDK in the next month or so. I will more than likely have a lot of comments, questions, and hopefully answers for you and others. So, stay tuned… Thanks again. DJF
