Hi, Michael– Is that a chrysocolla color, or a navy blue like azurite, or what? Does it match the dyed agates in color? I see a lot of agates with a lapis lazuli color, which I suspect to be the dyed ones. –Doug

Doug – the blue agate I personally have collected is a very pale, Paul Newman's eyes, blue. It is a paler shade of blue than any kyanite specimen I've seen. As far as I know, any *deep* blue color in agate is the result of dyeing.

Hi, Michael– Now you mention it, I have seen the paler blues now and then, but the lapis blue that seems likely a dye appears more common in the shops. –Doug
