#Animation on television

Hi – I'm a new Compuserve member hoping to find out something
my wife's been on at me about for ages. Are there standard videos
on sale anywhere with Computer Animations on them, purely
for entertainment? She likes extracts she's seen on TV of
landscapes, abstracts etc and would watch them while listening
to music.
Can anyone help shut her up?

There are about a dozen or that you could get or order at a local video
store. The best of the Genre are the 3 Mind's Eye videos: The Mind's Eye,
Beyond the Mind's Eye, and The Gate to the Mind's Eye. All of these have
professional recording artists performing the music. There are also three other
video of equal quality: Computer Animation Festival Volumes 1, 2, and 3. There
is another one called Dazzle that I think is animated fractals, and one for
children called Imaginaria. Then there are a few scattered videos that I've
never seen, but they don't look at first glance to be of the same quality as
the six listed above.

some of the best can be ordered for free from the animation software vendors
like autodesk. usually for the price of postage, they will send you a demo, it
all depends i think on the time of year for autodesk, usually around siggraph
they release a new demo showing the new features of the software, all done by
users of the software.
