Nick – Many thanks for the come-back. Tried your suggestions. Something's not right (no comments, please) :- ( 2. Floor texture problem: Stamp was enabled. I may have messed up when I re-scaled the image. I may have inadvertently re-scaled the object, and now the whole floor is the size of a postage stamp. Am stumped. May go back to square one on this and try to re-do it. 3. Copying a color/texture: Got it. Will try it. 4. Triangular plane: Selected it, disabled Render Lines, set general opacity, etc., to zero, put changes into effect, nothing happened. The triangle stayed there. It's in a plane just below the glass window, and is not in the original model. This anomaly is not occurring in the other windows – just the top one. 5. DXF layer reassignments: Not a problem yet. Will keep an eye on this in future models. You may be right, it may be my DXF-er – or (heaven forbid) it may be yours. (yuk, yuk) 6. Ball not moving: Do not think ball wireframe was yellow. That must be it. Will try this suggestion also. Thx again – — gtm —

BTW if you want to upload the DXF with extra triangle at skylight I'd be happy to look at it. Send it directly to my mail, 74431,2611. Nick Josephs Visual Software

Might take you up on the offer. Can't get rid of that doggone plane. Tried everything; selecting it, making it transparent, deleting it. I'm sure I'm goofing somewhere. If you get it, you'll know I gave up. — gtm —

>> Can't get rid of that doggone plane. << George: go ahead and send it to him… but you WILL get it right… one way or the other… Why don't you also start something else… then go back to this one… BTW, I found the new PCTools for Windows… and made a discovery… if you use their viewer for your rendering files, it will tell you the position of the camera, all the lights and everything else pertinent to the view… (very helpful to me!) Jinny – Sent it. The file-viewing feature of PCTools for Windows sounds amazing. Had PCTools v6.xx. Decided to stop using PCTools when v7.0 for DOS came out (it was a real dog) and haven't converted back yet. Went instead to DesqView (which is really great) and then to Windows. Have stopped using DesqView, but am still using QEMM. — gtm —
