Hi Galen, thanks for asking. Simply 3D is a full-featured 3D rendering/animation product designed to offer a smooth transition from 2D to 3D. Renderize Live EZ, the backbone of Simply 3D, allows you to load and extrude 2D vector drawings from the AI file format to turn them into 3D objects. These objects can be positioned in 3D space along with a camera and light sources, and rendered with a wide variety of color, textures, lighting, shadowinf, lens, etc characteristics. Simply 3D alos includes Visual Font, which extrudes and bevels Windows TrueType fonts to create 3D objects. Simply 3D also includes a library of seamless textures and 3D objects, ready to load and render. Finally, Simply 3D is compatible with Simply Scenes, a new library of datasets that are organized as completed "load-and-render" scenes. The objects, materials, iamges, etc that make up a scene can be used together or individually to create your own scenes. Simply 3D lists for $59. You can call us at 800 669-7318 to learn more about it and to find out which software chains carry it. Hope this info helps. Nick Josephs Visual Software

I was wondering if you knew what the bulk of Rederize Live is written in… (I'm guessing optimized 'C' and some assembly?). The reason I ask is because the rendering seems to run at lightning speed compared to other rendering packages that I have used. Thanks, Ryan

Hi Galen: Give our sales staff a call, they can help you. I don't know if our 800 numbers work in Canada, but try them: (800) 669-7318 or (800) 881-4108. If that doesn't work, our normal number is (818) 883-7900. From rainy California Nick Josephs Visual Software

>> It sounds like a great product for someone wanting to get into 3D! << Galen: I an a novice at using 3D programs, and I'm having a blast using S3D. It's a very powerful program for the price, and I haven't even begun to know all that it will do… You can purchase it from Egghead, CompUSA, or Tiger Software, those 3 for sure… mail order, if you don't just get it straight from Visual… Jinny
