#Visual Fonts problem
3 messages in this thread
I'm having a problem with the Visual Fonts part of Simply 3D. In short when
run, it immediately goes into a GP error from a call to the GDI module. I run a
Methius 928-4meg video card on a Dell using an Intel 486-Dx2, 1024 x 768 x
24bit, Windows 3.11 (Not workgroups). Everything else in the product looks ok,
haven't had much time to look at it yet, but would appreciate any help you
could give me. I'm checking into the version of my video drivers and thats
about it. Thanks…
Chris,
Your message is in the wrong section. This is the Byte by Byte section. We
offer Sculpt for the Mac side and SoftF/X for the PC.

I assume the message is "VFONT caused a GPF in module GDI.EXE", yes? Very
strange… Does it crash as soon as you launch it? Or after you execute a
Preview, Render command to view the text objects shaded? Are you maximixing
and minimizing this or other applications before it happens? Are you running
from Program Manager or some other shell?
It might be the video driver, but that usually results in a "GPF in
[driver_name].drv" error. Just to be sure, try changing the video drivers to
1024x768x256, or 800×600 to see if a different driver solves the problem.
Let me know if this helps.
