I've been having a blast playing with Simply 3D. One thing I haven't figured out yet (RTFM?) is how to add / position a "background" onto which some text will throw a shadow. I did read that a regular background will not cast a shadow. So what's the trick? The Animation button inside S3D is an example of what I'd like to do (the image with the letters "Anim" on a grayish background). Rob Cooper

Hi Rob: You need to map the "background" image onto an object that serves as a backdrop. Load a flat object (you can use "ground7.ged" from the tutor\tutor7 directory, add it to the view and position and scale it as desired behind your text. Create a material that uses the desired image as the Color Texture, assign it to the object, use ortho mapping, et voila! If you want more detail, let me know. And enjoy. Nick Josephs Visual Software
