I have just ordered Photomorph 2 and Morphology 101 and I should have them
Wednesday. I cannot
wait to start playing. From reading different files in this forum, I think I
have a good understanding
of what this tool will do with images but…
I also plan on buying a Camcorder next month. How does one (or can one) take 5
seconds of film
and morph it or warp it?
Another question. If I were to create many effects with images and wanted to
put them on a VHS tape
how would I do this?
I realize I better start out with something easy but I am curious about making
my two new toys play
together.

Just as one would need a scanner to digitize images, a Video Capture Card is
used to digitize video. Video Capture cards start at around $200. For output to
video tape, the best low cost solution is to get a video capture card that also
prints to tape. These cards start at around $600.
In both categories, two manufactures come imediately to mind: Miro Computer
Products and Orchid Technologies. The Miro DC1 seems to be an excelent choice
for video caputure and output to tape.
For more information about video capture and digitital video in general, two
magazines come to mind: Digital Video (DV) and New Media. Both should be
available at better newstands and computer stores.

I am surprised that there is not a cheaper way for me to get my effects to
video tape. $600 dollars is no longer a hobby for my
budget. If you ever hear of a cheaper way please keep my name and id on hand.

If you want a cheaper way to get your effects to video tape, there are boxes
and adaptors that will convert VGA signals to video signals. Those sort of
converters are less expensive. However, they do not provide hardware assisted
video playback.
For more information about those devices, check the magazines I mentioned
previously. (DV & New Media)
