#Codecs listed in PhotoM2

I am confused by codecs. In the fly-out menu listing my available codecs in
PhotoMorph2 I have
None
Video 1.1
Indeo 2.1
Indeo 3.0
Cinepak
Indeo <— what is this?
Indeo 2.1 >
Indeo 3.0 >why do I have these repeated?
What controls this listing? It seems every program using codecs (eg Razor,
CorelMOVE, VidEdit) give me different lists.
I know I have Indeo 3.2 on my system. How do I get it recognised by PhotoM2?

The drop down list of CODECs in PM2 suffers from an inconsistancy in the AVI
spec that Intel chooses to implement oddly. In other words, if PhotoMorph
doesn't see the CODEC version number in the "right" place, it gets confused.
If you have more than one listing for Indeo, one is a different version, that
PhotoMorph doesn't 'know' about. Chosing it will yeild the real compressor, it
just appears wrong on the list. You can check the compression of an AVI file by
using Media Player and choosing Configure from the Device menu once you've
loaded the AVI file you wish to check. The Media Player is in your Accessories
group.
Now, that being said, the infamous v2.02 'knows' about more flavors of Indeo,
including v3.2. V2.02 is in the final stages of beta testing. We thought we had
it, but Friday we found a couple of new bugs. It is our intent to make 2.02 as
bug free as possible. We've also added a *few* new features, increased the
morphing and warping speed, and there is documentation in the README! 🙂 I
hope that 2.02 will be ready by the end of this week, but don't bet on it.
If ANYONE knows a BUG with PhotoMorph, now is the time to come forward.

That was one of the things I don't follow. Where is that "right place"? All my
pgms that use codecs have different listings so it can't be sys.ini. Is there
some PM2 cfg file I can edit by hand?

only "feature" of PM2 which bothers me is the exclusive frame numbers in the
Video Editor. To include a entire AVI I have to add a dummy last frame so I can
include all the frames of the original. Does every "In" and "Out" have
exclusive numbering?

My, we're having quite the conversation. This is GREAT!
1. CODECs….
The 'right place' is embedded in the codec itself. There's no way to change it.
Trust me, 2.02 will make it better.
2. The AVI as input duplicates first frame and drops last frame bug….
This is the #1 bug with PhotoMorph. YES I SAID BUG! We're the ONLY software
company on Earth that admits to having bugs. Obvious Intel jokes will be
omitted 🙂
Version 2.01 is fairly stable. However, we've discovered that the more we try
to push it, the more inconsistancies we find. This is why we want to address
everything once and for all. Version 2.02 does correct the frame issue. If you
