#Listen To Your Forum…

I bought ER last week and am having a good time learning it. I was pleased to
find ER support here on CS. I think that's a big step toward being a truly
GOOD software product.
I just read almost evey message posted to date (I know — get a life…) and in
case you missed it there is an immediate requirement from your customers for
the following:
1. ER opens up so many possibilities that many of us are all staring at a blank
canvas (ah, monitor) going, "where do I start." More examples, especially
quality commercial projects, are not just a nicetey, but at this stage a
'requirement' to help get the creative juices flowing for many of us. Hence
all the requests in this forum for more examples. Of course such examples
would be too large (read that $$ expensive) to download, so an inexpensive CD
ROM from you guys could do the trick.
2. More comprehensive and 'advanced' tutorials (for the same reasons as above).
I got through the included ER tutorials in no time at all and definitely felt I
hadn't learned a fraction of what ER can actually 'do'. This could also be
part of a CD ROM, or an additional tutorials book.
3. Now that we have a FLIC saver, when will we see a FLIC loader??
Can't wait to see some of this stuff (…fingers crossed…). Keep up the good
work.

You mae some very good points and they are all things we are looking into doing
right now. As far as a FLIC loader is concerned, you will see one in our vendor
library in the next couple of says along w/ 32-bit AVI loaders & savers with
frame rate control.

Excellent! Glad to hear all that. Hope I didn't come across as complaining —
only making some (selfish) suggestions. Again, great software.

Mike,
One source of worked examples (albiet of a non-morphing use of Elastic
Reality) are all the TransJammer project files (66 projects in Version 1
of the software).
Each of these transitional effects are, in reality (a bad pun), Elastic
Reality project files. You can open any of them, see how they are put
together (good insight into matting and compositing tricks) and even
edit them to make new or custom effects.
More comprehensive worked examples are always valuable. We'll keep trying
to wedge them in there and look forward to (and encourage) any of our
customers creating and uploading examples for others to learn from.

Chris,
< 32-bit AVI loaders & savers with frame rate control.> OK, I bite. What's a 32
bit AVI (24 bit AVI with the alpha channel maintained?)?
Andrew
A 32-bit avi is Video for Windows support that works under a 32-bit operating
system such as Windows NT or Windows 95.
