#ER Output?

I have been doing tape-based (S-VHS) for years, but I am really just getting
started with digital images that I would like to get onto video tape. I have a
Pentium 90 system and want to get some of my ER work onto video tape. I am
interested in hearing how others get their images onto video tape with prosumer
equipment with a minimum of expense. I have tried a couple of VGA-to-NTSC scan
converters (+/- $280) but none of them even came close to VHS quality. I am
going to try the AVERKEY next.
I would appreciate any input on output.

I don't have any experience with the inexpensive VGA to NTSC converters
so I don't have any direct information to offer…but here are some ideas.
(1) A DPS-PAR or PAR-like budget digital disk recorder (2) A full motion
video display card and the appropriate video deck/adapters (3) Writing
Abekas digital video tapes on an Exabyte tape drive and using a service
to convert the Abekas tape to real video (4) Display card with associated
single frame deck and control software/hardware.
You've probably thought of or knew about these alternatives, but if you
haven't/didn't these are some other approaches you might try.

I'm using a DPS PAR to output ER/TransJammer images. The output looks real
nice. I would like to see field-rendering added to ER.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is DPS PAR ? I come from a video background and
am just learning the digital end. How much does it cost, how does it output,
and what hardware does it record to ?
