Chris, I just rec'd copy of er. Machine I'd like to run on is currently up to its neck in Win95 beta. I'm guessing er and win95 will be a happy union, but thought I'd ask you if you've tried it yet (Of course you have!) and if, to your knowledge, it will install politely for me. Tks! -Gene

That's correct…Elastic Reality runs happily under Win95. We have noted only one anomolous behaviors under Windows 95. When rendering a full effect, the MINIMIZE control on the render status dialog is missing for reasons unknown to us (all our other dialogs retain their minimize controls). It is a safe bet that we'll fix this before Win95 actually ships. Actually, its a safe bet that empires will come and go before Win95 actually ships, but that line of comment is more appropriate to the Windows forums. 🙂 Jason ERI Seeker of Lost Controls

Great! Thanx for the reassurance. BTW, I tried it on a Pentium 90 NT3.5 at the office this morning and it runs FAR faster than I expected. Why no VFW on NT? I can't wait to get home and see the AVI files play. Tks again, -Gene

Gene, We didn't include Video for Windows support under Windows NT because at the time we began shipping, we weren't allowed to ship a 32 bit version of VfW (because it was part of the then unreleased NT 3.5). Since 3.5 started shipping we have added the Video for Windows as a supported format under NT…I think that the hiipup.zip file in our library may contain the 32 bit AVI support…and if it doesn't we can add it. The HIIPUP.ZIP file in our vendor library does in fact contain the new VFW 32-bit support as well as load/save capability for FLIC animations. Chris Edgin "The force is with us!"
