a while ago i somehow deleted hdtoolbox's partition data on my hard drive.my computer still works but if i ever try to use it again i think it will destroy my hard drive partitions. is there anyway to fix this? also i had a problem before that that i was missing l:fastfilesys or simillar, but no such file exists in my workbench disks. does anyone know about this ? i have an amiga 1200 with kickstart 3.0 ver 39.something also can does anyone know if i can use mac products like scsi serial box aka the hustler from creative solutions ,and simmdoubler in a amiga1200 accelerater board for doubling memory? also has dkb or mtec or cyberstorm releaesed their scsi adapters for their boards?

I'm not 100% positive, but I believe HDToolBox tries to read the RDB (Rigid Disk Block) of the drive selected, and if it can, then brings it up in the list of recognized drives. If it can't, then it lists the drive as "Unknown" in which case you have to define a new drive. So if HDToolBox comes up with the drive name and lists it as "Not Changed" then you should have nothing to worry about in making any other changes. Just be sure you have a backup of the drive if you do <g>. In AmigaDos 3.0 and 3.1 the FastFileSystem is built into the Kickstart ROM so you don't have to have a seperate file in the L: directory. If HDToolBox is reporting this as an error, then it sounds like you have it looking for l:FastFileSystem and it can be changed by using the "Advanced Options" button. I seriously doubt that a MAC so called "Ram Doubler" product would work in your 1200 and might cause some of the chips to release their blue smoke each one is holding. When that happens, you can kiss your 1200 goodbye! // John – (TechnoJunkie at heart) \X/ Mercury@ins.infonet.net

I've installed Simmstackers in Macs before. They should work in an Amiga since all they really do is turn 2 Simms into 1. But it also eats twice as much power and takes up twice as much space (ie, not in a stock A1200 :^). It won't fit. I don't know if it would fit in an A4000 (I've never seen the innards of that beast). It is designed for Simms that go in straight or slanted, though. –Windows is not a Virus; Viruses _do_ something. >I thiunk i can get any thing to fit into the 100…. but i have another qquestion ,if i got 2 2.5 hds, would i need a bigger ps? It would be a good idea. I have the Dataflyer XDS (gives A1200/600 ability to have an external 3.5inch hd in addition to 2.5 internal). My 1200 brick will not power both, so I would suspect the brick will not power 2 2.5inch hds, either. Rick Green via AutoPilot 1.77
