#Bones Pro No Go
10 messages in this thread
I have just bought a copy of Bones Pro. I have been following through the
instructions. When I get to the point where I use Program/KXP Loader/BONES
instead of the Bones Pro Dialog box appearing I get;
BONES.RED
Not Found
then back out to the keyframer. In other words, I can't use the software. I ran
the install program without any problems so I don't know why this should
happen. Any Suggestions ? I rang the company, but was told that all the
technical lines were busy, and that it would take some time to get back. Its
already 10PM here in the UK so I thought that I would drop you a line here.
Incidentally I paid the new $495 price for the software. I rang to get details
three weeks ago but a guy called Jeff Teachwort never sent me them as promised.
I rang again last week, got Lazina to fax me the details, and left an order the
following day. She was very helpful and extremely efficient. Unfortunately I
only discovered that night (whilst browsing Compuserve) that I had missed the
price increase deadline.
Don't you just hate people who complain all the time?
Marks out of 10?
Jeff Teachwort 0/10.
Bones Pro….?
Lazina 10/10.
Oh okay, to be fair, the LenZFX demo is excellent 10/10.
Yours courteously,
Gary.
Hi Gary,
I understand from Mike that your Bones problem has been solved.
Jeff has been flogged and appropriately repremanded. LaVina appreciates the
fact that
you think she's a ten.

In my book, LaVina's an 11! <g>
-Alan
Alan,
She REALLY appreciates that. I think you made her day. Of course I didn't tell
her what (g) means.
I told her it meant Grrreat.
David
Well, she certainly deserves it. LaVina is an extremely pleasant person and
must be very nice to associate with. She kinda reminds me a bit of my own
Debbie. And anyone who knows Debbie knows that that is a real complement!
And in this case, <g> meant only that I was smiling when I typed it — not that
I wasn't serious about saying she's an 11 'cause she is!
-Alan
PS -Come to think of it, I can think of quite a few female counterparts of
3D-oriented friends that are Very Impresive People. AndreaM, SusanP, IreneF,
come to mind…

I'll pass this along to Susan! Flattery will get you everywhere! :^) And I
agree with your list, also, including your Debbie!

Don't forget that she's a hell of a skiier! (g) This is one of the most
important qualities of a good woman in today's world…
(See, I do actually read messages in this forum!)

Very important, I agree! :^)

I still don't believe it!

Alan,
Boy I can't even think of a better complement from you about LaVina than
saying she reminds you of your Debbie. …and tell Debbie that next
time she needn't ask if I want a hug…that's a given!
I'll print your message for Irene to read, she'll be happy to be included in
that "3D wives" roundup.

Yes!!! And very quickly too. Thanks for your help David. I was really impressed
with both your persistence and the speed with which you arranged for Mike to
help me out. It turned out to be a problem that was quite easily rectified. It
seems that it is likely to be an unusual problem caused by my particular
combination of software and hardware. The software did not appear to be able to
see my BONES.RED file in the PROCESS subdirectory. By copying it into the 3DS
root directory it ran first time.
It is an excellent peice of software. Just from my brief experience I can see
it opening up a whole new area of dynamic object modelling for me. The preview
window is particularly good, with colour coding for the area of action of
indvidual bones (if required). There is obviously a lot of work gone into the
product.
Thanks again,
Gary
