#Can't config MGA Imp/3/V
3 messages in this thread
Hi, Nik.
I'm still having grief trying to configure 3DS3 and my Matrox MGA Impression
3Mb VL board. It's running on a 32Mb 486/66 clone, and I'm using the VIB3DS
driver that I downloaded from here (1.0.5.P1). Here's a copy of a message I
posted a couple days ago in Matrox's section of the GRAPHBVE Forum:

Nik, I heard back from Dave White yesterday and the only thing he could suggest
was a memory conflict and that I should try booting with no CONFIG.SYS or
AUTOEXEC.BAT. I tried this, and once again, it made no difference.
I'm stumped… I've chosen exactly the board I have from the list of boards in
the Vibrant setup, and it won't accept anything but plain VGA. Do you have any
ideas for me???
Dave
I saw your message over in the Matrox section, and was very interested in the
reply. For now, I would use the MGAVESA.COM to allow you to configure 3DS for
the Vibrant "Vesa compatibles" option.
I've forwarded your question to Vibrant – I'll let you know their thoughts. I
had asked them a question several months ago about this card, and they were
unable to confirm the problem. I guess we should take that as "it's supposed
to work".
Hang on…
Thanks much, Nik.
Do you think I should configure all the modules for VESA compatibles rather
than using RCPADI and the Matrox RCMGA for Main and Render Display? I don't
seem to get many colours if I do it that way…
