I remembered our msg's about ImageQ and have been price shopping to find that
best prices put
it at 1/2 the price of Director!! It advertises to be an authoring app!! Is
in the same league as
Director or is the best track to go for the most full featured Director and
blow off the others??What
direction do you feel gives me the most power to author for 3ds, et al, without
programming ability?
I really appreciate your opinions.
Sports Section:
What did you think of Campos (for Mexico)? He's probably the quickest
goalie I've ever seen! I keep thinking of Speedy Gonzales in goal!
EEEPPPAAAA….ANDELE'! The older Swedish goalie (can't remember his name) was
probably the ultimate in size, speed and vocal abilities!! his defensive line
without a doubt UNDERSTOOD what he wanted!!(scorched back ends!) I like that
in a goalie!
Stoichkov<?> & Romario (my idols) BOTH play for Barcelona FC!! Get
this…..Madrid nailed Barcelona 5-1!!Bacelona lost last week again 5-0!! so
much for hero worship! One of the offices I do work for hired a fellow from
Madrid and we spend time trading the latest!(my latest is not as current as
his)
I wish more were televised! I see Manchester United on HSE occasionally but
nothing to give a
feel for the european teams!!<sigh>
You should at least consider passing you knowledge of the game on to another
generation. Why not coach a youth team?

There was a recent review and roundup of authoring packages in New Media
magazine and showed ImageQ to have most of the features of the higher end
authoring tools. ImageQ won't do all that Director can do but you'll have to be
the judge of whether it does the job for you. ImageQ does a good job with
animations as well as stills and requires absolutely no programming skill
whatsoever as the interface is almost entirely graphic. It requires you to put
images/animations in the right order by emulating a slide table. You drag and
drop the files around as you like. You can change the transition used (from a
matrix of about 30 different effects) for each item and change all kinds of
attributes if you like (attributes can include among others rescaling the image
to fit the screen, changing the brightness/contrast, background color, etc.)
ImageQ has a full fledged scripting language as well for more advance
authoring. I didn't need the full blown authoring tool like Director and
ImageQ is a snap to learn.
Soccer:
I catch a few of the British league games but nothing from any other corner of
the world. As far as coaching, I can't commit the time. I work far too much
overtime as it is, so just relaxing would be nice.
Both are excellent packages. Some projects are better with Director, some with
ImageQ. If you're worried about money, and do all of your own projects, go
with ImageQ. If you want to freelance or have clients that are name wary of
the software that you use, go with Director. It's not entirely that simple
but… They are both my software of choice depending on the project. Brent
