Sounded to good to pass up passing on !! Alex Amor's secretary told the past president of the local Amiga user group Friday that CEI was signing the agreement Monday, February 13th, and would be faxing their dealers the same day. Although there will be an opportunity for other companies to up the bid, CEI felt their bid was so much higher than any others seen to date, that they are assuming that they will win the bid and are proceeding accordingly. When I get my fax I'll update this message. Maybe we can get some reaction from Dan Sunday night. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Kind of contradicts Steve Ahlstrom's message 185150, a summary of Dan Stet's article of yesterday. According to that there's another 2 week delay because of a death in the family of the judge. Paul (aka Mr. Zombie)

According to CEI the hearing about the resolution of the bankruptcy (by US or Bahamian law) will not effect the sale. So they're moving ahead. I'm looking forward to getting my fax tomorrow. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Latest update – CEI has passed the contract on to the creditors for approval, then on to the trustees, then the court. Any day now – but things are moving. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

That could prove painful – CEI estimates that the process will take about five weeks – til March 31st – so stretch them every now and then. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

At least CEI is planning a massive media blitz when things are official. They only wished it could have been sooner so they could have gone to NAB to tell the world. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Hank, was that from an actual CEI dealer fax? There are all these other posts now saying that the fax never materialized in other parts of the country. Paul (aka Mr. Zombie)

Sorry to mislead – that was the results of a discussion with my contact at CEI, Dawn. She said that the contract is with the creditors, and that they must reject or accept it within ten days. She further indicated that it would take no longer than 30 days for the courts to approve it, at which time CEI would be able to announce the final buyout. CEI had hoped to be more secure by now and have a fanfare booth at NAB, but I assured her that if it is finalized by NAB, she wouldn't need a booth to pass the word, every Amiga/Newtek supporter would be doing it for sure. Since I'm going, I offered to take flyers (oops, brochures) and hand them out. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

>>Since I'm going, I offered to take flyers (oops, brochures) and hand them >>out. Gee, if our phone line glitches and we don't get the 'oops' you think we have grounds to get THE Flyer?? ;^} (Just thinking of the lady in NJ in the '50s who got a new car for 3,000 clams – thats what the car dealer said in a radio ad :^} wmc – via Autopilot!

Huh. I heard that the creditors already approved, from another source. I hope there's truth in them hills. Paul (aka Mr. Zombie)

Could be – there certainly isn't any reason for the creditors to delay getting paid themselves. Now it's on to the courts, a lengthy process that should be completed before the end of March. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

Hi Hank I'm getting some info faxed from Deskstation technologies tomorrow, but the CEI fax is the one I'll be watching the FAX for. Let's hope…. Mike Brennan, Sir Render

Hi Mike – Guess what? It's premature (and no birth) but things seem to be moving. The creditors should have CEI's bid and contract. After they sign it's on to the trustees and then the court. Hank Videology, Inc. Where you get P.O.M.P. under all circumstances

I talked with Alex of CEI on the 14th. He said an offer was going out that same day. Included was a letter of credit for the FULL amount of the bid! This is the first time a bid was fully backed up with cash! Hopefully, we'll hear something soon! Later!
