Oh I LOVE it. I can already see that 2 Gig Barracuda drive costing about
$300 when Window's 95 comes out <g>. Thats the best thing about those
memory hogs, they have driven the prices of large capacity hard drives
down to decent prices.

John, I am quite new in this forum and I just saw from your signature that you
are using en Emplant Macintosh Emu. How do you like ist? Is ist any good? Would
you recommend buying it? I am using an A 2000/030/28 Mhz with a spectrum
graphics board an a Macintosh Powerbook Duo 250 Greetings from Germany
Michael: The Emplant is a nice emulator card Michael and I'm sure you
would enjoy having one. It does a pretty good job of emulation and I
haven't had much trouble running most Mac software. There are a few
problems once in awhile, but nothing major so far. Utilities Unlimited
seems commited to providing support and releases upgrades to the software
on a pretty regular basis.
There is a problem with EGS 7.1 working with the latest Emplant software
but that can be rectified by using a patched Piccolo video driver, so if
you do get an Emplant and run EGS 7.1 then let me know and I'll provide
you the information for patching the drivers to make it work.

You could also use the new CyberGrfx drivers with the Spectrum in place of the
terrible EGS stuff and use v5.2 of the emulation which has support for the
CyberGrfx system…

I've been holding out using the CyberGFX system because there were no
Emplant drivers for it yet. Guess I won't have much excuse not to switch
over now. I'm glad Jim wrote the drivers for it.

I have had 5.2 for a while as a beta tester, but it has been available to
everyone else for a few days now. Also, if you have EGS software that you
still want to use, there is a new utility that will let you switch between EGS
and CyberGFX on the fly.

Well after I got your first message I called the UU BBS and downloaded
5.3. Apparently 5.2 had a few bugs and so the newer version was already
posted. I'll probably install the CyberGFX software tonight and see what
happens.
