#Amiga mouse axis reverse

Marion, I read Ron Legro's letter about the Amouse driver problem in your February newsletter. One workaround, if he can find one, is perhaps to use a Gravis Mousestick. It can be programmed to reverse the X-axis and Y-axis as well as a few other fancy things such as saving settings. Gravis used to be on one of the vendor forums and may still be; I haven't looked. Unfortunately, they discontinued the Mousestick, which also worked on the Atari, and now only offer the PC clone version. It came in 2 parts: a LCD pad with GRAVIS MouseStick GMPU which plugged into the mouseport and the joystick with Advanced Gravis Computer Tech Ltd. Burnaby B.C. Canada on the bottom. The joystick plugs into the LCD pad. I found mine in Waldensoftware before they changed their offering to mostly games. Mainly my point is the ability of the device to be programmed and have the settings saved. Consequently, a setting can be used to reverse the bug in the Amouse driver during graphics mode. PMJI, but for the record, GeoWorks runs nicely on a bridgeboard setup with AMouse even though it uses a graphical mouse cursor. The exception that proves the rule, I guess.

Marion, No, it isn't programmable from the computer. There is a manual that comes with it. You click the command key on the joystick and read the LCD display on the pad. The manual shows you how to hold the joystick to program the mousestick. Then you exit the pad program to use the Mousestick with the computer. You can reenter the program and choose another setting for use with another program. It isn't a device for the rank novice. Its variable settings are intended to allow you to rack the game scores!
