Hi to all. I use 3DS since more than one year and all the time I use the default pixel size of 1.1. I know that I can change the value but I don`t know why I should do it. What is the pixel size? Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks in advance… Michael

Have you read about it on page 51 of the Installation Guide yet? Plus, you should read about the hidden MAX-PIXEL-SIZE parameter in the R3HIDN.TXT file that's up here in the DL's. – G

Thanks Gary, I`ll do that. BTW: did you see the final RayMan version? If you have none you should ask Bob Bennett. We sent him one… Michael

I think the last version that I saw was final. (Have you guys gotten animation working yet?) – G

The last thing you saw was the final beta version. You know what this means ? <g>. There`re some differences between the final beta and the final selling release. >>(Have you guys gotten animation working yet?) Yes, but it`s a little bit too early to announce. We have to make some optimizations and add some new features. When you`ll show the new 3DS on Siggraph we can sell the new RayMan. Michael

It's great to hear that you're animating now! I'm looking forward to seeing some videotape! – G

I hope that we`ll have a few nice animations for the Siggraph 1995 Demo-Reel. You`ll see my condom animations. Really funny… Michael

Micheal, Pixel size effects the smoothness of the edges of objects. Although 1.1 is the default (and good for those test renders) it should really be bumped up to decrease the ropiness found at the edges for final rendering. It is especially noticable on edges that are _nearly_ verticle or horizontal. Why don't you do a test for yourself? Make a simple scene and render at 1.0 and again at 1.5 to disk and view them side by side. NOTE: Their is an undocumented feature that lets you pump that up to 2.0! There is a text file in the libraries that explains that. Chech out the manual under Renderer/Setup/Options for more info. Ralph

Thank you Ralph. I`ll made some tests and read the manuals… Michael
