#Add-on for Stealth 64?

In an article in the february isue of Byte there is mentioned an add-on board
to a Diamond Stealth 64 VRAM card. Does anybody have any experience with this
card? The main use will be to show video clips (Mpeg, QuickTime, MS Video for
Windows), but I also would like to show and capture TV. And it must run under
Windows NT 3.5. And what software do I need to use this card. Or should I buy
something else?
I have a DECpc XL 590 with a Diamond Stealth 64 card and a NEC Multisync 6FG. I
also have a SoundBlaster 16 audio card.

I haven't heard about any add-on card for the Stealth 64. I have heard ALL the
S3 boards are about be revised with the 868 and 968 chips ( instead of the 864
and 964). The new chips have things like pixel expansion and color space
conversion. This helps video go fast. It's unclear if the S3 Trio64 (an single
chip integrated 865, RAMDAC, and clock) has these new features. – Jan
Do you know if it will be possible to upgrade an exixting card, or do I have to
buy a knew one?

Well, most companies use surface mount chips. A company MAY offer a special
upgrade price for owners of current cards. Generally, this special upgrade
price is significantly close to discounted street price. – Jan
