To all I would appreciate any assistance. I can't get GPFax to recognize my new Supra 144LC FaxModem. It worked just fine with my Supra 2400/9600 baud FaxModem. The software came packaged with the 2400/9600 modem. When I load GPFax I get a "Where's the Modem? Requester/Message and when I try to send a fax the Send Fax STATUS line reports "Can't Init Modem". I've checked the modem Init code on the enviroment screen, it complies with the default setting listed in the manual "AAT&FE1V1X4&K3&C1&D2S0=0"? The version of GPFax I have says for "Supra modems only" is there a difference that requires a different version of the GPFax software? Also "TERM 4.2" refuses to pick-up the phone line? The modem works fine on my 286 laptop running COMIT or MS-Works or Procomm terminal programs. I don't have any MS-DOS Fax programs to try. Reid

Reid, What version of GPFax are you running? The Supra 144LC is a class 1 modem which takes some workarounds as well as a different init string. For some reasons GPFax versions later than v2.346 have problems with the Supra 144LC (I know; my modem is the Supra 144LC). If you have a version other than 2.346, I would suggest contact Dr. Greg Perry at CIS ID #100351,1421 to see about how you can go about upgrading (there is a US distributor – Micro R&D, but I think you would have to buy it outright). The version of GPFax you have is the class 2 version. You need to get the newer version of GPFax (2.346 or higher) that combines the class one and two versions. Then install the new software selecting the LC as your modem type. Alex Johnson Supra Corp (You need to contact GPSoftware about the upgrade..or perhaps I heard someone say you can get it from Micro R&D but I haven't verified that)

Alex, Micro R&D (as of a few months ago) distributed GPFax. At least that is where my dealer got it. It may have changed since. Trent 'Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori'
