Does anyone know if when you upgrade your DPS PAR Software to Version 1.5 and you have allready installed RazorPro…if you have to recopy the Parinit.exe file from the RazorPro Directory over to the DPS_PAR directory like you did in the original Razor Pro installation. Or Does the DPS PAR 1.5 allready have settings in it for the RazorPro software? It's Sat. Afternoon and I was hoping to get this done on the dealer machine because I'm supposed to go over to a clients tonight to upgrade his par software also. Anyone? Murph'

James, I am using the latest version of Razor Pro and version 1.5 of the PAR software. The Parinit.exe is dated 8-11-94 and this version has not changed in the last couple versions and you should not have to change anything in your Razor Pro or the PAR directories. The next thing that you need to look for is the latest version of the PAR MCI drivers for windows, but I do not think they have been released yet, they should work great with Razor Pro (duel drive support YES!!!). PMJI, but I have a PAR and am waiting for my HD's to come in, I just installed RAZOR PRO. Am I to understand that RAZOR will not support a SLAVE dirve on the PAR?

Richard, The master/slave drive support is a function of the PAR MCI drivers from DPS. There is a release comming soon which takes care of this problem, its fast and works great. Also there will be a upgrade for Razor Pro comming up in a few weeks which will have these new MCI drivers.

Thanks for the Info. I just started Installing the PAR in my Main Computer. Do you know the Jumper settings for a Connor CFA HD and a Slave Drive set up?

Richard, I can't help you on this one, I know the jumpers on the Micropolis drives are the opposite of the manufacture's specifications. I would call DPS to get the proper settings unless someone else up here on the forum can help you on this question. Mike Morgan, CAD Forms Inc.

I did get it installed and run fine. the connor drives have two slave modes and I wondered which was the best.

Richard, I am just getting to my mail, I am moving my office this week and it has a long one. I think you need to contact DPS on the settings they recommend for the Connor drives for the master/slave jumpers. I have not used any of the Connor drives yet so I can't help you here, maybe you can post this information when you find out what the settings are.

I have it hooked up already I just wanted to know about the 2 slave modes on the drive. I think they are A/T CAM and Connor, I just left it(the slave) in connor mode. it's working just fine.

Mike – When you say "opposite of the manufacturer's specifications" I go worried. What should be installed differently than Micropolis indicates? I've been using the PAR (with no problem) for six months. TIA. Bob
