#MCI and Par 1.5?
13 messages in this thread
Gregory,
Sorry to bother you off the forum, I'm not even sure that you are
support for DPS, but I saw your name with alot of questions so here I
am.
I recently installed the par 1.5 upgrade (looks nice, works
great). During install, it mentioned a par.ini for windows and MCI in
the same breath.
Out of curiosity I got the Par to run under Windows (ooohhh!!!)
but since the par won't play any available "Media" formats, is there
something in the works?
Will the par be able to export to some "avi" or other type of
fomat, to preview and edit stuff in windows? in the near future?
While lurking in the autodesk multimedia forum, I saw some
mention of Razor Pro and DPS. My wild guess is that if I purchase and
install Razor Pro, I will have the MCI links to the Par?
Since I am still unsure of a good windows, digital editing
package for my animations, maybe you can offer me some insight on
Razor Pro and DPS as a solution?
Thanks
Mason

You can be sure that I'm not! But I try to help out whenever I can! :^)

For "future" info, near or far, contact Brick Eksten [74041,2043] for PAR and
Jamie Carr [71754,2541] at In:sync to get the scoop!

Gregory,
Thanks for info….this time I filed the address's away. I appreciate the
help, will let you know how Razor Pro does for me. By some other replies, it
looks like just the ticket.

I realy don't get excited about new things very often, but I really love this
PAR system.

I can relate! Ours is hooked into our BetaSP edit suite with a 3 second GPI
trigger, works flawlessly! Great way to quickly test out lip synch, etc.

dear Greg.
Last week you left a message to Richard Smith as follows :
>> Our PAR is hooked into our Beta SP edit suite with a 3 secound GPI
trigger , works flawlessly ! Great way to quickly test out lip
sync and … etc.
Would you have time to explain how this works and what it is used for ?
I understand the GPI trigger. Are you editing with both the PAR and your
Beta SP tied in together ? I wasn't clear what you were doing.
David.
HI, I just got a PAR and am using Razor Pro to edit things, For the money I
think it's the best thing going.
thanks for info…..lots of people say the same.

If you get it you Love it. I have mine hooked up to an EVO9650 with the GPI
trigger.
Man! you guys are makin me salivate!, I gotta get some of my outstanding
accounts recievables to pay up…so I can get my stuff <g>.
Right now I do 3d as a hobbie. (A very expensive one.<g>) I am a Drafter by
trade, but that never stoped me from moon lighting around.
Mason, I own RazorPro and the PAR setup with the correct MCI drivers
and it works great. I composite effects and transitions to clips in
RP and play it back to an NTSC monitor with the media player in
Windoze. If Ichoose to add any .wav file to it in RP, RP creates a
.wav and I can then link it in the media player to the PAR .ani file
and it all plays back seamlessly! I even composited uncompressed .avi
files with .ani(PAR native format) files and a .tga sequence all into
one finished clip straight out to the PAR. I also use Premiere 4 for
any Photoshop filter I need to animate over time.
Anyway the MCI drivers are available on the RP BBS!
