James, Here is a basic set of files (config.sys & autoexec.bat) to start with. As I noted I do not know enough about the command switches in QEMM to give advice. But I would start here and see if this works with the PAR. This setup boots me to about 500K of convemtional memory and works fine. If this works for you, then it looks like the problem lies in the setup you are running with QEMM. DO NOT FORGET TO RENAME YOUR OLD FILES SO YOU WILL HAVE THEM IF YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SETUP!! James, I don't know if this is your problem, but I'm sure someone will be interested in this. I installed a second hard drive (I have multiple seconds) that contained an animation that was over 11K frames. The PAR worked fine until I went into that directory and selected the 11K animation – the PAR software would crash back to DOS with a fatal error. After a little troubleshooting I noticed a command switch in the PAR.INI to specify the max frame limit (the default size is 8K). I increased this limit to a number over 11K, and no more crashing. Don't you love user friendly software. To be fair, I have not had any other problems with v.1.5 and am very grateful for all the fixes. If your problem still persists, try going through your PAR.INI and see if there are any other parameters that may apply to your setup. I noticed in your autoexec.bat that you have two calls to pardrv. I think you want to remove the first one. You may try removing QEMM stealth mode or remove QEMM completely. You might also remove the network calls to rule out any conflict.

James, I was looking over a printout of your autoexec.bat and noticed that you are loading the pardrv.exe twice. You need to remove the c:\par\pardrv from your autoexec.bat. I did a test (I tried PARDRV.EXE dated 5/17/94 and the new driver) to see if that would cause your problem, but I worked O.K. IMHO–I still think it is your memory manager! Mike Morgan, CAD Forms Inc.
