Video Pro is a new magazine published by Video magazine. Interestingly, their editor has a computer background so is trying to cover computer based video editors and video effects and graphics on cards. But the mag. is dedicated to video production. What do you do?

I'd like to stick my two cents worth concerning VIDEO PRO magazine. If the premiere issue is any indication, I think Videomaker (who up till now has pretty much cornered the desktop video market) will get a run for its money. I've had a few dealings with the folks at VIDEO PRO since its inception and they've all been very positive, very helpful, and very responsive. If you haven't checked out VIDEO PRO yet, you don't know what you're missing. Barbara A. Besteni, Publisher VIDEO FILE, Professional Journal of the Video Entrepreneur

<<< If the premiere issue is any indication, I think Videomaker (who up till now has pretty much cornered the desktop video market) will get a run for its money. >>> I'd like to second that… What a quality product! Congratulations to Tim, Tim & Stu (and the others who worked on it). (Isn't competition wonderful?) db.out

Competition is terrific. Without it we'd only get the same perspective over and over again. bb

Stu: I've already contacted Tim Wetmore directly and told him about my feelings for his new publication. I'll be happy to send you a sample issue of VIDEO FILE. In fact, I think you may already be on our mailing list. Let's do everything we can to bring fellow video entrepreneurs together so that our industry can continue to grow and prosper! Barbara A. Stu – I've been meaning to write you… I'm across the bay. I've enjoyed your writing quite a lot, and even saw you on the faculty list when I've taken some classes at BVAC. Hope to meet you someday… db.out

I'm glad to hear it's a new magazine… I wasn't sure I'd ever heard of it! I have a computer software company. We make InterChange, a program that translates between many 3D file formats. It's the 3D equivalent of Hijaak for the PC or DeBabelizer for the Mac. (Those programs convert between many bitmap file formats.) We also make some CDROM collections of 3D clip art that demonstrate what InterChange can do in terms of translation. I've always done a lot of freelance writing, too. In the past few years I've done a few articles for Digital Video: reviews of motion JPEG cards, video conferencing systems, 3D and future technology articles. This past summer I did the Siggraph cover story on 3D for AV Video. Once upon a time, I had a regular column in Compute, too.

Yes I am here. Thanks for the very kind words. Just so that you are kept up to date, we have been growing by 20 to 30 percent perissue and, as of the April issue, we have added a full 8 eight page form to the magazine. And it's onlyour third issue! Needless to say we're very excited and appreciate the support of all of you out there. I would like to request that anyone out there with article ideas, questions, comments or criticisms please feel free to send me some e-mail or post it here in the forum. Though I travel for weeks at a time, I try to check in every few days from the road. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. Tim
