#Whap! crashes

The inital part of the guru, 00000003, indicates "address error".
In my experience, this is most often induced by running out of memory. I
highly suggest that you (a) shut of anything that uses memory that you can
do without while running Whap!, and (b) if that's not enough, edit your
Whap! parameters to move the temporary files directory to your hard drive,
or some such.
The objective is to free as much memory up as possible for use by
Whap!.

Hmmm…I'll try your suggestion to see what happens. Funny thing,
but today I used Whap! about a dozen times, and by not using any other
screens or opening and closing windows on other screens, I avoided Whap!
crashing. It's odd, but it seems as though it just doesn't multi-task
well. It could be fragmenting chip ram while Whap! is running is causing
the problem, as I don't have the Fatter Agnus chip installed.

Fragmentation could indeed be the problem, as it is rare for me to be doing
anything else when Whap! is running. I don't want to slow it down any
since CIS cost money per minute! 🙂 Hope it works for you!

I have experienced the same problem you describe. I am running the demo
version of Whap! on a 2000 with 3 megs. It crashes occaisionally as it
terminates a download session and comes back to the main screen. I _think_
that each time this has happened, I was doing something from the keyboard
or moving the mouse pointer at the instant of the transition and this
somehow contriuted to the crash.
