#Whap! crashes

I also use Whap! from the WB with stack at 20000, and sometimes log
on three or four times per boot (although usually only once or twice). I
have an A2000 with 3 meg, used to be 1 meg. I run from a HD partition
called WHAPSTUFF:. With daily use since the original Whap! was posted, I
have not had the problems you report. I usually do not open or close
windows while Whap! is running. Can you give me a repeatable pattern so I
can try it on my system to see if the crash occurs ?
Bill,
Well, today, I used Whap! about a dozen times, all without a reboot,
and without altering any windows on other screens. I just let Whap! go,
then QUIT when I wanted to do something else. No problems. But if I were
to set Whap! to get new messages, then clicked it into the background and
used, say, MEMACS to edit a file unrelated to Whap!, and opened/closed a
couple windows before going back to the Whap! screen, I can count on it
crashing right after the OFF command. Not always, but if I mark a few
messages, then set Whap! to go get them, it'll crash the next time it hangs
up the phone.

Andrew,
I use Whap! with a 512K Agnus – have been doing so for nearly two years
now. I multitask with it all the time, using many different programs in
the background. Sometimes I work on the bridgeboard, sometimes play a game
that requires a colorful screen, sometimes use WordPerfect to write, etc.
The programs I am using work well with Whap!, and crashes are rare. I had
a rash of them two or three days ago, but that was unusual. All seems to
be back to normal yesterday and today.
I do sometimes get a message that I'm out of chip ram and Whap! cannot open
another screen. In that case, I just close down something and re-load
whap! Even that is rare.

Betty,
It does seem strange, but when I just leave the machine alone while
Whap! is running, there are no problems.
