#'C' memory problems
4 messages in this thread
Thanks, Larry…
I dl'd fixhunk last night and tried it…
Oh, woe is me…my system still crashes whenever I run one of my own programs!
I called Manx – they told me to patch my Workbench 1.1 version of Aztec 'C'
(3.20a) with 'patchall' from their b.b. I did that. Recompiled a program
(which used to work great) that uses areafills etc. CRASH!
Then I fix-hunked it. CRASH!
Oh, woe is me!
Now my wife is mad at me…all the great programs I wrote for her business
which I promised her would be even greater if she'd let me spend megabucks on
RAM expansion, now simply crash the Amiga! Makes me look pretty dumb.
Any confirmation or proof to the contrary of that would be most appreciated!
PlELP! John
Hmm… Not sure what the problem could be John. There is also a patch here in
DL 10, and it apparently incorporates all the patches that have been published
for Manx, though the one from Manx should have done it.
I am also not familiar with C, so this may be a bit of a shot in the dark foot,
but is there any way that the graphic structures could be part of CODE hunks in
the finished program? I really have no idea how C does these sorts of things.
(And I just bought Gimpel's lint for the Amiga today… figure that one out!)
Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'm sure someone will jump in with a
suggestion.
Regards, Larry.
Larry,
"A shot in the dark foot"?
I hope that was intentional because I like it!
I don't know…I unplugged my Starboard and my programs worked fine…plugged
it back in and :::boom:::. I think I may have gotten a bum download of the
Manx patch, though.
But if anybody wants to chime in here, I'd be grateful.
Thanks, John
It was, and thanks, and you may use it. <grin>
Wish I could help you more.
Regards, Larry.
