Of course you should use InterChange to convert between programs! You expect
me to say something else? I am saying that 3-Demon is not the answer,
because it doesn't convert objects correctly. I think InterChange still has
the upper hand because you can go both ways for any conversion, while 3-Demon
only loads 3-Demon, Sculpt and VideoScape formats – and its VideoScape
loading is highly incorrect. It saves 3-Demon, Sculpt, VideoScape, Silver
1.1 and Forms In Flight. 3-Demon only works with triangles, so no true
polygons can be converted.

Aegis plans to release Modeler 3D in the neighborhood of May, as far as I can
tell. It supposedly loads Sculpt objects and can spit out VideoScape
objects. It will also have a way to send objects directly to VideoScape,
without saving them to disk. (They use message ports, I'm glad someone else
thinks this is the way to go… InterChange uses them heavily. 🙂 Silver
2.0 only works with triangles and mathematic spheres. The spheres can be
stretched to be oblates. I haven't heard about BbB pulling upgrades, and I
talked to them just a few days ago. Their stated policy is that bug fixes
are free updates. I think they said something about a bug fix/update going
out RSN, but because they had added some features, were going to charge for
it. We'll have to wait and see, maybe that was the source of your rumor.
