P.S. We were not fighting to prevent the employees from being represented.
They were being represented by the IAM. What we were fighting was the
IAM's demands that would have made our staying in business impossible. We
did not 'chuck' the company to aviod dealing with the union, to the
contrary, we dealt directly with the union and bargained in good faith,
which is more than I can say for the union officials!
I beg your pardon. I assumed that 1/4 mil legal fees could only have been
spent on 'labor relations consultants' to fight recognition. They are blood
suckers on our economy. I could never have imagined that your jcollective
bargaining expenses could ever reach such a level.
