I've taken to having the WBench open lately, just so I'll have a better feel
for it so the software I write won't be "foreign" to WBench users. Still,
there isn't much use for WBench as a developer.

Yes, I understand from a developers view you may wish to use the CLI. What
got me started on this was…my older brother owns a Mac. He is a graduate
student in electrical eng. and progrmming. I used a product on his Mac called
LightSpeed C, a C compiler that has no competition in it's market. The way it
uses an integrated interface to compile, link, edit, add or create
libraries,etc.. makes me wonder why there are command line interfaces to begin
with! For speed and ease of use, THERE IS NO COMPARISON! For a user who wishes
to learn a language, a compiler like that would get them learning in no time. I
guess what I'm trying to say is this…I am a user and wish to be a developer,
the CLI is nice for those accustomed to it but I feel as if Intuition should be
used more than CLI and that just doesn't seem to be the case in the
marketplace.

It really depends on what marketplace you're looking at. Most commercial
software seems to be Intuition based (at least most that is good). Here in the
Data Libraries you will find more CLI stuff, probably due to the abundance of
people writing code that use and are used to the CLI.
My personal view of the mouse/icon interface is that it definitely has its
place, and I intensely dislike being forced to use the mouse for things that
are better done using the keyboard. The converse is also true of course.
