Will, I've had my Amiga now for a couple of weeks and I love it! I used to be an avid Atari user until I got fed up with being kicked around by Atari. First, Atari has practically run of ALL third party developers. They have even run off dealers. Including the ONLY dealer that was within 80 miles of me. Now I can find ANYTHING I want for my Amiga at ANYONE of four or five different places. I feel as though I have support from the company I purchased my computer from instead of empty promises. Second, if you haven't already heard Atari is bringing out(BIG question is when) a new computer called the TT. What can I say about it? It's going to die before it even gets going. A 68030 running at 16mhz. What a WASTE! Graphics and sound in the TT are just now catching up with Amiga standards. I've had enough of Atari for one lifetime. Let me tell you. DON'T run down Commodore. Coming from the Atari world I can safely say that this IS heaven. -Chris

Chris; Kinda like talking to some of the folks that escaped from Hungary, Czechoslovakia and the like during the takeover by the USSR. Most of those folks have quite a different perception of the seriousness of the problems that we have in this country! Glad to have you join us and maybe you can help us remember now and then, whats 'right' while we try to improve on whats 'wrong.' =>73<=, bill =>KB7LX @ K4IWW<=

Chris, Vaporware strikes again….! 🙂 The ST isn't really that bad of a machine. I even thought about buying one to use along with my Amy. The biggest problem that the ST had/has was/is Atari!!! One thing I will give the ST…. FoReM BBS Software! Why didn't Matt program for a winning machine? Have tried to get him to release his source code, but no luck. Tell you what. I'll post his address and we'll all write him letters to try to get him to write an Amiga version. (Anyone who calls a FoReM board will agree with me on this!) FoReM is THE best BBS software around! Jamie

Jamie, You are perfectly correct. Atari is the BIGGEST problem with the ST. I did not mean to make my message sound as though the ST is a bad machine. It isn't. I like and still do like my ST. It's just I can no longer take Atari's very grave lack of bussiness skills. How the big T's could have done so well with Commdore but practically kill off the ST I'll never know. I've also heard that there IS going to be a 25mhz TT although I haven't read anything about it in ANY Atari specific magazine. God only knows when any of Atari's new machines will be available anyway. What can I say. I'm tired of being jacked around by Atari. I have NO faith in the company whatsoever. If they can kill a good machine like the ST, whos knows what they'll do with the TT. I haven't used the BBS you refer to. But heck, I'm willing to fight for it if it will help the Ami. -Chris

Seems to me that the "Big Ts" almost killed Commodore, as well. I don't believe they left voluntarily. Ray Lewis

Thank God it WAS almost. Anyway, at least they gave Commodore a good start. -Chris

Chris, From everything I've read, the TT is *supposed* to be a *16 Mhz* machine, not 25 Mhz. Heaven only knows why. Lloyd

Lloyd, That's also the information I have, but as I said I have heard that there will be a 25mhz TT. I think what has happened is that someone has gotten the TT and Atari's workstation confused. The workstation is supposed to run at about 25mhz without additional processors. Anyway, right now I could care less. Anyone you know interested in some ST hardware and software? They may be able to pick it REAL cheap! -Chris

Chris, Maybe advertising in the Atari section would bring more response! Good luck. Lloyd

He is doing an IBM version, that's why. _That's_ where the BBS software money is, where all the programs are crappy and everyone pays to be on the BBS. Well, almost everybody. Craig
