The AEC package for architectural needs seems like the cat's meow, from what I've seen in demonstrations and in the literature. Being as AutoCAD is to CAD what Lotus is to spreadsheets, are there any decent 3d-party offerings of architectural symbols that one could use in his/her drawings that can do the trick, perhaps a bit more economically? Testimonials welcome. As a basic question from a new user, are there any simple routines one could write using Lisp to create parallel walls, or – better yet – good books one could buy on same. Input welcome.. While attending a seminar for builders locally, I inquired of the Andersen Window Company regarding their diskette I'd heard rumors about that allowed a person to draw windows. To my surprise, the Andersen representative presented me with the Andersen CADD-I Computer Design & Drafting Program, gratis. Their program uses Version 2.52 and later and will create both plan & elevation drawings of their patio doors, bay windows, and all their products. Though I haven't gotten into it to this extent, it will even do door/window schedule routines. If you are a builder or architect and would have a good use for their program, I suggest you contact the Andersen Company representative in your area, or perhaps call their main office in Bayport, MN. I'm sure you would probably have to demonstrate a need; they don't stand on the street corners handing them out. The program does require you to do plan views with parallel lines… so hence the earlier question in this thread.
