My amiga 500 would at various times hang up and the "caps lock" LED would start to blink. After playing around with it for quite a while i Allan Rydberg

Allan, The Caps lock key LED flashing is an indication you have a problem with the keyboard. I'd suggest you make sure the connector is tight on the A500. If the problem continues, take the computer back to a dealer for repair. Also, your message got truncated. CIS can only accept lines up to 132 characters and then you must enter a CR. The easiest way to do that is to hit the Return key at the end of each line. While it looks like the text is wrapping on your screen…it really isn't in CIS's editor. That is why if you try to type a line longer than 132 characters…the screen will start to flash. It's CIS's way of telling you that you are over the limit. Don

Allan, I had the same problem about a month ago – my Amiga would hang up with the Caps Lock key flashing. This occurred without warning after several months of trouble free operation. I took it back to my dealer and he reseated the chips. I haven't had a problem since. Has your problem been intermittent?
