Your suggestions for getting a non-computer husband interested are good,
but I'm afraid they wouldn't work for me. I know, I tried!
Hubby's line of work is quite different from mine – he's a precision
machinist in the tool and die trade. And his only hobby/interest is
competing in triathlons. I looked around on CIS when I first got it to
see if there was a forum for serious amateur athletes, and even left some
messages, but got no response. I guess are interests and lifestyles will
always be different. I'm the cerebral, he's the physical. I love
talk/write/figure things out, while he's shy around new people, can't
write, doesn't like to read, and is always doing "something".
No complaints, tho. My house stays clean because of his inability to sit
still. He's always cleaning or putting something away, or, to my chagrin,
doing laundry. His being not interested in computers is the price I pay
for an otherwise "perfect" spouse!

Have you tried logging onto the Sports Forum (GO SPORTS) while hubby is in
the room? It's not my cup of tea, but I know one of the Sysops over there
and he's a great guy!

I wish my husband would take an interest in our computer if only so we
could spend time together. With our schedule, we see/spend little time
really together.
I'd be happy if we'd just play computer together!

Yes, I would find it difficult if Thom didn't take an interest in thiings
that are important to me.
We've always been "partners" in business as well as marriage. Between
our business, children and pets, we'd be in staightjackets if we didn't
give each other mucho support!!
…hmmm, but cleaning and laundry too, I'm green with envy!

since your husband handles all that cleaning….mine does the same ..a day
off/"not working" inevitable means waxing cars, floors, anything in sight..
I'm tempted to suggest keeping him as far away from the little ole
addictive 'puter as possible…….however, if you ever get struck by a
sudden urge
…check out the Summer Games programs by Epyx (I think) and send a message
to Harry Conover the wizop of the Sports forum asking for advice on how to
locate some other Triathalon folks…

Thanks for the advice. I just saw an ad in one of his triathlon magazines
(yes, I read them to keep up with his hobby, but does he read my computer
magazines to keep up with mine?) about a software program that allows him
to hook up his bike and do timed training intervals. I'll definitely have
to buy it for him.
