Gayle – From the way that I understand the Educational Offer, after March 31st a student can still purchase just a CPU without getting one of the bundle deals. But he will not be able to purchase just inividual components. That is to say – The CPU's and The Bundles are available as an Educational purchases until (I think) June 15th, and if purchasing an inividual CPU then he/she/it can still pick and choose any of the components that are being offered. What one can not do after March 31st is purchase just the components without a CPU. So one can get an A500 and A1084 only. Or an A2000 and just a monitor. That's the way I read the press release and I have confirmed that with a couple of my dealer friends. – Roy Pahnke – cMs

Roy, Is the 2500/030 also still available until June 15th? Did Commodore publish the educational discount in any of the magazines? Thank you for your information! I had also understood that individual components could not be bought after March 31st but was not worried about that because we were interested in one of the package deals. However, I was not aware of the June deadline! Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless'

Perfessor – I am not real clear on this June date – it is just somethin' I heard. Before I did hear that it was my understandin' that there was NO deadline on the Educational Bundles and CPU's. Maybe this is somthin' you should ask Dave w/ CBM online relations – Maybe Dave will step in here and fill us all in. 🙂 I have really not seen anything in print (Mag or CBM releases) that mention an experation date on the Ed. Discounts, besides the indv. components purchases. – Roy Pahnke – cMs

Roy, I haven't seen any other date either for the bundles, just the components. Getting $4K before June 1990 would probably mean no Amiga system for a little longer than we had planned. Of course, if I wait long enough, I could probably pick it up for $20 at a flea market like I did a couple of other things. (How long did Methusala live?) Thanks for the information! Having read the info. sheet, this is the impression I got. You may only buy on the discount without buying a computer until March 31. The discount lasts until June 31 for anyone who also buys a computer. You can mix and match until June, as long as you buy a computer. After June 31, commodore will review the program and decide whether or not to continue it. — Ethan

Ethan, Thanks for the information. The local sources here in the Rocket City are somewhat confused. Sincerely, (Mr.) Gayle Lee Fairless 'Perfessor Fearless'
