Am considering purchase of 400 DPI half page scanner called the Complete Scanner. Has anyone had any experience with this product? I'd appreciate any input before shelling out the bucks. Thanx, Joe P.

Joe: I'm looking at a scanner myself. I've looked at Scanman, and several others as well. The complete hand scanner is one of them. Since I'm in the Greater Chicago Metro Area I was able to drive to a store and look as one. It was the Complete Hand Scanner. I learned that it requries you to have a mouse to edit the picture. So does Scanman, and just about every other scanner. 400 DPI is the best you can get, and is better then what my screen can do. The problem is support. I found that one place wouldn't refund if you're unhappy or didn't like the scanner. That was the largest dealer in the area. A smaller dealer offered a 30 day refund policy if the original box and packing was kept. I'm going there. Mail order is not for me, and the price between mail order and stores is less then $10.00. What does it all mean. Look, consider, and try out. If you can't exchange or get a refund, you're stuck. By the way, I'm going to get the LogiTech Scanman. The complete Hand Scanner is the same cost, but is only available from the dealer that doesn't refund. That and the fact he's 30 miles away as the crow flies, and I don't fly with crows, outweights the difference between the two scanners. Either one is equally good. If all things were equal, I'd have a hard time deciding. Hope it helps, but it won't. Maury.

Maury, I went ahead and ordered the Complete half page scanner , 400dpi. Got it mail order for $175 + $7 shipping. The price is right and the high resolution make it attractive. If you send me a mail message in about a month, I should have a good idea about how well it works. Good luck in your endevors, Joe P.

Joe: I think you got a good deal. The local cost from a store is $199.99 plus 7.5% sales tax. Question. What supporting software comes with your [Dscanner? Logitech's Scanman come with paintbrush.
