Hello — I am interested in learning how to view the NWS color weather maps that are provided at GO WEATHER. I understand that I need some sort of a GIF viewer to see these maps and that it might be available in one of the libraries. I have an Amiga 500 with a Commodore 1084 monitor. >> What are the appropriate answers to the prompts when preparing to download these maps? >> What is the viewer to use and where can I find it? Thanks in advance for your help and assistance. — Simon

Simon, I'm not a SYSOP, but I have used the CIS weathermaps. Look for a term program in the telecommunications library over in AMigaTech called AHOST. Don't bother using it for file transfers, the XMODEM is broke big-time. But it does recognize the color maps, so you might use it as an interactive term with WHAP! The important response is to tell CIS you can display 16 colors (I think it's EGA in the question). Just follow the prompts, and AHOST will display the map. Oh…the section is COLMAPS (go COLMAPS)…and don't be too dissappointed in the lack of resolution…not everybody has an Amy. Too bad. Andrew
