#unwarp please help!

I need help in unwarping a program.
I doo not know what to do. I unzooed warp.zoo and tried to unwarp
sttg1a.wrp, and it did not do any thing to the program. Can you write steps
for me to follow? thankyou! David.

Copy WARP to your c: directory so it will be available to your system.
I would suggest that you put the program to be warped into ram:, if you
possibly can, so I will assume that you have it there.
Put a blank disk into df0: to receive the file. It does not have to be
formatted.
type WARP W RAM:FILENAME.WRP
It does the rest from there.
If you need help with any kind of unarcing program, you might like to get
ARCHLP.EXE from Library 4. It is an interactive tutorial that tells you
how to use all of the different arcing and warping utilities.

One thing you need to know about warp. AFter you unwarp a file, you have
to take the target disk out of its drive and reinsert it before the machine
will realize it has any new files on it. Try that with the disk you
unwarped sttg1a.wrp to once it is finished unwarping. You may well find
that it worked just fine!

Hello, I am back. I tried it, and it seems to go through everything (It
displayes Uncrunching, busies the df0:, etc. no files was created, however.
Is this correct?

After you finish unwarping a disk, you have to remove it from the drive and
reinsert it before the files show up. Try putting the disk back into the
drive. Bet it is just fine.

Ok, I tried that. It did not work, even after I reinserted the disk. I
also got info on the disk and it was 0% full, and I also made sure that the
disk was write enabled. This is what I did: I have Sttg1a.wrp on my
harddrive, and copied Sttg1a.wrp to ram:. I then typed Unwarp
ram:Sttg1a.wrp It asked me to put disk(s) in drive Df0: this I did, and it
displayed on the screen uncrunching, writing, etc as Df0: was busy. After
this was done (in 40 sec.!!!) there was nothing on the disk, even after I
removed and reinserted it. the warp command just warps for my peticular
warp utility. Does warp create any files? Thanks for your help.
If all else fails I will get that tutorial you suggested! David

The WARP in our libraries requires you to use the commands:
WARP WRITE PATH:FILENAME.WRP
And it writes only to drive 0. It has always worked for me. Did you list
your Sttg1a.wrp file to see if it is the correct length?

Did you then take the disk out of the drive, and put it back in?
For some reason, when unwarp does its thing, you have to take the disk out
and reinsert it before the Amiga knows that it has written files to the
disk. Try that, and then run a directory on the disk.
(Let's assume that the disk is in floppy drive DF1:, AFTER you have taken
the disk out of the drive and reinserted it [wait for it to read the disk]
go to a cli and enter the following command:
dir df1:
If any files were written to that disk, they will be listed.

Yes I did try to take the disk out, but it did not work! I am now assuming
that there is an error in the warp file, for I realized that the drive was
not securely connected to the SCSI interface. I will try to redownload the
file. I hope that is the problem!!! Thanks so much for your efforts!! David
