#Commodore kills A1000
8 messages in this thread
I just read in the april Amiga World that Commodore will no longer
support the A1000. I would have liked to have known this a little sooner so
I might have been able scrounge up the $999 to upgrade to an A2000.
I don't know whereelse they announced the tradein offer, but I think
the march 31st. deadline is a little early. That is unless they don't
realy want all thoes 1000's (like mine) comming in.

The deadline has been extended to April 30th for the A1000 upgrade
Commodore sent the store I work at the info recently. Earthrise Micro
Systems in Columbus Ohio is the leader in the country for A1000 upgrades!
Thats the store I work at. Our owner was invited to have breakfast with
Copperman and to discuss what Commodore can be doing for the dealers!

Jonathan, this tradeup was announced several weeks ago. It was discussed
on all the networks, and was announced at both of the clubs I belong to,
both in meetings and in the newsletters. The word has been put out in lots
of places.

Betty, there aren't any Amiga clubs in my area, and I haven't been on the
networks due to a lack of time (just started a new job, and had 6 mo.
Intensive training). It's a shock to come out of an electronic hermatage
and find something like this. I am glad to hear about the extension on the
tradeup deadline.

Hope you enjoy the new 2000, Jonathan. And I'm glad you found out in time.

I just bought an A2000HD with the trade in of my second A1000. So now I
have an A1000 and an A2000. Between them I can run ANY Ami program.

A Rejuvenated A1000 will be the only single machine capable of running
every Amiga program ever written, once the next OS is released. (Sorry for
the plug, but I had to say it!).
