.mod FILES
Message #48537
Hi Tzwen just thought i'de let you know that their's loads of utilities that allow you to play and edit .mod files on a PC. one of my favourites is screamtraker written by one of the Future Crew. You can even get .mod players that work under windows. Plantman
Michael, .mod-files are Amiga-special music-files. You can play them with many players that you can find in Audio/Midi-Utils library of AmigaArts. If you want to edit some mods, you will need a program like Sound- or Noisetracker, but the best mod-editing program for me is OctaMed. But – the most…
Michael, I'm no expert on .MOD files, but I've played many of them. They are a standard form of music files, and there are players in the Audio/Midi Utils library of AmigaArts that will play them for you – and I think some that can create them as well. —Betty
#.mod FILES
Message #48478
Please, what ARE .mod files, as opposed to .mid files? Are they a standard form of music file, or are they particular to Amiga equipment? If they are the former, how does one create them? Do they have any special characteristics? Sorry to be so hopelessly ignorant. Michael C

Thanks to you that answered my questions about the .LHA and .LZH extensions on files I downloaded from this section. I am now some-what familiar with the LHA compression utility. Now I have another question. After I decompressed some titles, I had files with extensions of .000 and one with…

Archive
Message #48191
What do people think of creating an archive where unknown artists can send there works to? It could accept C.D.s , tapes, etc. as well as scores and put out a catalog of what is available. The service would cost a small fee for the cost of providing the service.
Thanks I found. I let you know if it does the work for me. Reint

#Midi Music
Message #47926
Does anyone know where there is a good collection of Midi music besides classical music.
Jay, I'm not sure why this is happening, but it would seem that your computer and CompuServe's computer just aren't talking properly to teach other. I sometimes have this problem when downloading, but have not had it when uploading. Have you tried setting up those uploads in AutoPilot and let…
Jay, thanks for the uploads. I'm sure people will enjoy them. I really don't know about Protracker = have you looked in the libraries here? —Betty

Message #47907
Betty, I am having problems uploading some Mods. When I confirm that I want to upload a Mod, WinCIM(1.4) starts to send it, then stops. A message is displayed, 'Timed out waiting for response.' and then displays 'Attempting to resynchronize with CompuServe. Then it disconnects from CompuServe. Any Ideas? Jay…

William, I have a peice of software that I picked up from a friend a while back called Psound, I think that it was intended for the hardware you mention thogh I'm not certain, I use it to fool with samples I get online. Send an address and I'll send…
I don't think you can have voices in .MID format– MIDIs aren't digitized sounds… You must be trying to play a WAVlike file on a MIDI player.

people are vending copies of audiomaster 4 which handles this sampler
Bill, Sorry, Dom Fontana has posted a message in another forum saying that they are no longer in business. This is a surprise to me, but he is in touch with them much more than I am, so I guess it must be true. Sorry again, John A. On AutoPilot…
Concerning Perfect Sound and the SunRize people. I sent my disc to them for replacement and it was returned saying "address unknown". The phone number on my literature is no longer functional. Also I do see any ads or mention of them. Do you have an address? Thanks, Bill White
SunRize are still in business – I'm sure that they must have some software around – call them on (408) 374-4962 Regards John A. On AutoPilot all the way from the U.K.
