Jerry, If you check out the newest issue of VTU (should be hitting stands any time now) you will find a review of TAO Editizer. Although I did not have the oppourtunity to test the Editizer with all the machines they claim to support, I was able to execute all…
Montage delivery
Message #30357
Has anyone yet received their copy of "Montage" by InnoVision? Last promise I received was for a mid May delivery. Still waiting! There was a rumor that the program had a "bug" in its interaction with the Toaster software. Any truth in that? Regards to all…… HILARY.
Ok, Thanks for the info on TAO. I doubt if I will go with them based on what you say. I mean they are a little pricy. Do you know anything of Mediaphile ? I received info from them calling for only a $200 software program to control the Visca.…
Tom, on your "Transcode 60 fps non-interlaced images to 30 fps laced", that's what I can't get out of the FS . Just think, if we could do that, we could have PC to PC wipes and disolves and just do away with the cameras alltogether . Well, can't have…

Erik, on the "not 'pure' colors" in the bars, now that you mention it, it probably has to do with allowing reference black to float naturally rather than doing a hard black clamp at digital zero. Bet the same impurity showed up in every one of them . Well, what…

Erik, two frames at 752 x 480 up in preview 11 for you this date so you can get an idea on the DigiCam. The EIA resolution chart (standard NTSC) and camera chip chart, both from direct digital extraction from the TBC, resized, and JPEG compressed with the IJG version…

Still, the prices I mentioned were what my local dealer is selling them for. The prices you mentioned were in some cases ABOVE SRP!! -Jonathan
Sooo, I take it you'll definitely be upgrading to an A4000/T4000 combo? *8) -= Vance =-
I can speak from experience that Rend24 does NOT produce a good HAM picture when converted from HAM8. I tried Rend24 and IM. Rend24 produced yellowish HAM images, while ImageMaster produced the results I expected, and more. Stick with the pro stuff, Peter, there's a big difference. Rend24 is great…
Thanks for the report Eric! MIKE
Rocky, I have the TAO Editizer, and am using it with my Toaster setup and some Sony RS-422 decks. I know that TAO's support of the VISCA protocol is very recent, and based on my experience, before you buy the machine, get something IN WRITING from TAO saying that their…
Thanks for the report! Steve
Rend24 has nothing to do with ADAM. Tom Krehbiel wrote Rend24 prior to ImageFX, originally without DCTV support even. DCTV, and a few other features, made their way into Rend24 later on. ADAM was from a different author altogether. Kermit Woodall

Which video encoder?
Message #30324
Steve, what's this Panasonic transcoder? How much is it? Do you know of a simple encoder that doesn't have all those Betacam etc. signals? Sounds like I should call the mainstream companies: Panasonic, Sony… Blaq!
Yeah, RGB Amiga modes seemed a bit better through the new T4000, but I could only compare it to my work setup, and there are too many variables. (Like the fact that the people that were showing the T4000 had the color balance of their monitors WAY off, and they…

Can anyone comment on the new Ami-Link which has just come out? VIP I think it's called. Also what about the possibility of linking this TAO Editizer with the Amiga and a Toaster. It is a PC editor which I know links to a toaster. I do have a 486-50Mhz…
Erik, Did you get a chance to check out the Overlay Genlock with Amiga graphics by themselves or over video? … Nate, Emerald Video. I Animate – because – I am a Nate!

David, As you can imagine, this thread didn't quite come out as I intended. I will say that the preceeding discussions were directly related to the subject, and definitely showed the controversy involved in this area. Not to detract from the moral issues being taken on here, I'd like to…

Well, I got my first chance to play with a Toaster 4000 today – VERY nice little unit! (All high-end Amiga & Toaster stores should be receiving their demo units this week.) The new 24bit ANIM-Wipes are marvelous! Complete with full 8-bit alpha channel! I don't remember anyone mentioning that…
