Erik, two frames at 752 x 480 up in preview 11 for you this date so you can get
an idea on the DigiCam. The EIA resolution chart (standard NTSC) and camera
chip chart, both from direct digital extraction from the TBC, resized, and JPEG
compressed with the IJG version 4 software. The cam inputs were R/G/B/S and
video chain setting at Flat rather than EIA, so you will see a slightly higher
HF noise floor than usual with the EIA setting. Also, the digital
representation was not black clamped at reference black, but uses zero IRE as
digital zero, allowing that random noise between zero and 7.5 IRE to continue
to exist. This will give you a truer idea of what is really going on. The
reference primary byte equivalency is; Zero IRE = H)00 and 100 IRE = H)F0,
resulting in reference black (7.5 IRE) at H)12. Doing it this way resulted in
less roundoff errors in the 24 bit per primary to 8 bit per primary conversion
rather than the usual H)FF = 100 IRE method. Let me know how they come out on
