There is no ANSI standard way of doing this that I know of. However, Microsoft C allows the #@ operator to "char-ize" in a macro. I don't know of Borland does something similiar, but they rarely let MS get ahead on things like this… 1: That's interesting to know… ing…

I'm working on porting some Amiga code to Windows / Borland C++. The Amiga has a nice flat memory model, where a pointer is 32 bits and reaches everywhere, as Brian K. intended. 🙂 This means I've got lots of pointers to different types, integral types, my own typedefs, etc.…
