Brian, You need a new microphone, unfortunately. The new Macs expect line level inputs rather than the lower microphone level inputs; the slightly longer plug on the new microphones conacts a power jack inside the computer to provide power to the mike.

I have an LC475. Why do the 3 microphones which work with Apple 2 ci's not work with the LC475.Have I missed something? Is there a patch or do I have to buy a new microphone? Any help welcomed Brian
