AFTER A LITTLE THOUGHT, IT IS CLEAR TO ME THAT THAT MY METHOD OF COMBINING CLI AND ABASIC ON ONE DISK WILL ALWAYS LEAVE A CLI WINDOW OPEN. WHEN I MOVED JPAD TO A CONVENTIONAL AMIGA-EXTRAS DISK IT RAN JUST FINE. ITS AN EXCELLENT PROGRAM.

I use MaxiComm with the Rixon 212A. In order to get the program to work I had to tie lines 6, 8, and 20 together. The cable I'm using has pins 1-2-3 5-6-7-8 and 20 with pins 6,8 and 20 tied together on the modem end.

Kevin, Microsoft did WRITE basics in most every micro around…. They modified the first one they originally wrote…Thus MOST of the the msbasics around all have the 64k limit (ie the pc with 640k mem) and terrible string-garbage collection- problems… SSG

Well it compiled and ran, but…. I can't really say if the colors on top or bottom were brighter. True, at the moment this Amiga is cabled into an old green-screen Apple Monitor III rather than a nice color setup, but brightness SHOULD be brightness… my box ser#1117609.

Before going into ABasic, make sure all other windows are closed. If you have been running other Basic prog. enter "clr" before trying to run jpad. That took care of the problem for me.

Lowell, I just let basic assign the stack value and everything works fine. One thing to check would be to make sure that when you go into basic that you don't leave any tasks in process i.e. cli windows, clock, etc That should do the trick. GRAPHIC JACK

The answer is…. vectorize? After all, the Amiga uses lists as a library primitive — maybe the makers of ABasiC just assumed that everyone would program in that sort of style.
