My concious decision is that I don't (at this time) want ARP in my machine. Having ARP in a program guarentees that a will not be able to run it, since arp will NOT be in my machine is the forseeable future. It limits my options just like not running…

Steve, I dunno – but they tend to sell for arounf $70 in green, $90.00 in amber around here… 200.00 is a lot of money compared to that. Especially considering the REST of the things you lose with an ST… like COLOR. . I've got an old green one here…

Yeah, I *did* mention violence in that message…. sorry, didn't mean to be crude. Should have just stuck to sex, which is nice and clean and everybody should have some, as Geo. Michaels says. –Ben–

Yeah, and for those who are willing to buy another monitor for 640×400, a monochrome green or amber slow phosphor monitor fot (for) the Amiga works just as well (Better, actually – since we can have MORE than 640×400) so that's one pro you can strike off the ST's list…

Speaking of happenings, Jay….. you might be interested in this… a few weeks ago, I met some woman on a plane and she told me that her son worked at some college (she named it, I forgot :^( ) and that they had successfully FROZEN, as in suspended animation, a…

Perhaps you could get CIS to supply a screen editor? I just leave my misspellings, since it's sucn a *astonishing* pain in the butt to try and edit things with a line editor (sound of dinosaurs and pre-cambrian swamps (bubbles of marsh gas, actually) in the distance)… Man, line editors……

That is quite correct – you have ecery right to patch it, imho. What you don't have is the right to give the patch out, and that's what I was discussing with Larry. Sorry if I wasn't being clear. –Ben–

um. Well, it's like having sex with your best lady… compared to mugging somebody. In both cases you're using a blunt object, but the goal is different, as is the effect. . There is a difference, and I guess I'll just leave it at that. As for our stance, I…

Boy…. (You _have_ to be playing d/a, no?) Changing the internal default in no way defeats the intent, obviously. The CP is in no way compromised. The disk can be duplicated. You can run a copy in df0: anyway. There is no need for the original to be in there,…

Steve – they _are_ directly related to softcircuits stuff, as PCLOplus directly supports ARexx, and those functions utilities are useful with the CAD stuff. Furthermore, I thought the idea was to provide an area where softcircuits could offer stuff to it's customers that would benefit it's customers??? Pretty and FixText…

I'd rather talk to the guy who wrote it, myself. I'm quite sure that Mr. Hillman won't be able to answer the questions I want to ask. In fact, I consider it likely he wouldn't even _understand_ the questions I want to ask. Perhaps I'm being presumptuous, (probably) but somehow…

I understand that – that's because they aren't (generally) rendering; and when they ARE rendering (320×200 mode, fer instance) they're doing a complete simulation of what the console would have done anyway, so it all works well. In our case, we send text (ASCII) to the system as well… then,…

Well, I think that a textual print screen is not reasonable to do on the Amiga, period. Text print window, yes. Anything beyond that, and you have to get into graphics capability, imho. So I wouldn't be interested in generating what you're currently describing. To me, each individual conwindow should…
