You are mistaken…..HIRES and INTERLACE are two different attributes… screen can be low-res and be interlaced, and it can be hi-res and not interlaced. Three easy steps to Video Amiga-Usage: 1. Buy Animator. (It is great.) 2. Get SETLACE 3. Run SETLACE, then boot Animator. 4. Load your animations, and…

NTSC recording

The main bugaboo seems to be that people are trying to record non-interlaced signals, which will occaisionally work o.k., but is misguided. I've recorded the Amiga signal on professional 3/4" recorders, and edited it on Sony BVU-800s, and it was fine. But you have to be in interlaced mode. To…

Damn straight! Here's a vote for music support, if you can squeeze it in! Also, the following wish list: 1. Path Editor (a must!) 2. Icon showing whether you're looking at the beginning or the end of the tween. 3. Cursor coordinates 4. Depth indicator for polygons, and a guage…

It seems you are thinking of the old mandelbrot…there is a newer one with custom ML routines to speed up processing…..draws a line in about 75 seconds. Still not heavy on the copper though….

It is bad enough that Dr. Dobbs guppied out and became "Software Tools"… no style.

Concur! Any magazine with Margaret Marabito on the staff should be avoided…her bowing and scraping before the alter of the CBM Plus-4 was extreme embarrasing…Kono hito totemo warui desu!

Just finished looking at some animation I created with the AEGIS package… On the grounds that no non-interlaced picture is going to record worth a damn on an NTSC professional recorder, I ran the C program "SETLACE"–availabl e from PD files–before I booted Animator. The result, recorded on a JVC…

I'd like to get a little dialog goin here about what AEGIS could do to enhance AEGIS ANIMATOR. I bought the program, and while I like the concept, the user interface could be more utile, and of course, it crashes frequently. I don't know enough to fix the crashes, but…

Wow, guess I was wrong….you guys DO have ADOs and frame-syncs laying around….I would venture a gues that any attempt to manipulate an un-interlaced screen is going to be less than satisfactory (as somebody pointed out above) just because it is way wide of the mark, standards-wise….. using SETLACE.C should…

Thank you for the offer of help. I got the "rarity" info from RAM Computers of Beaverton, OR, who were polite but very skeptical about getting the parts, which other companies don't seem to have any trouble stocking. The 800 number you mention is probably for Cables-To-Go of Dayton, OH.…
