The last time I was down at CompuTron in Portland they had little
mail-in cards from Bantam Books – here it is under the Amiga keyboard – where
you could order the 'Prepublication' edition of the AmigaDOS manual for
$49.95+$3 UPS. I don't know what a 'Prepublication' edition is! If you publish
it, it's not prepublication. I have a feeling it's unedited notes and such.
I'll bet the Addison-Wesely editions are the ones to have. Are the Bantam Books
sanctioned by Commodore I wonder?
I would very much like to have those volumes, but the posting of Bob
Pariseau's message indicated that the bonafide editions are coming out soon. I
may rely on information in ss4 in this SIG.
By the way, I have purchased some DS/DD 3.5" disks at Conroy-LaPointe
near my house here for $29.00. They are SONY disks. Conroy-LaPointe does
mail-order – check BYTE or InfoWorld or something. Or, next visit to Portland,
visit them. It's a deal.
